Automotive Epoxy Flooring Geelong & Melbourne

A new workshop floor
Zero Downtime

Automotive service centres and dealership workshops across Geelong, Melbourne, and regional Victoria face one common challenge: how to keep operations running smoothly without sacrificing floor safety, durability, or professional presentation. Uncoated and worn concrete floors often fail under the constant pressure of heavy traffic, chemical spills, dropped tools, and hot tyres, leading to staining, cracking, and safety compliance risk. Furthermore, traditional floor refurbishments can mean costly downtime.

Maxi Blue delivers a specialised, zero-downtime flooring solution using high-performance Dulux Luxafloor® technology, specifically engineered for the demanding conditions of automotive environments. Our rapid-install, fast-curing epoxy systems ensure your workshop floor can be completely refurbished over a weekend, ready for full operation by Monday morning.

Most durable epoxy floor for a workshop

High Durability
Enhanced Safety

Automotive service environments place extreme demands on floors — constant vehicle movement, chemical exposure, and daily abrasion from tools, tyres and traffic. Maxi Blue epoxy solutions are engineered for long-term durability, resisting breakdown from oil, brake fluid, solvents and wear. That means less maintenance, less disruption, and a surface that holds its condition under pressure.

Dulux Luxafloor® delivers workshop-grade performance:

  • Long-lasting durability in demanding conditions
  • Withstands heavy traffic and on-the-spot tyre turns
  • High abrasion resistance (ASTM D4060: 80 mg/1000 cycles)
  • Resists chemicals like oils, solvents, alkalis, and acids
  • Easy to clean, supporting upkeep and longevity
  • UV stable, with excellent gloss and colour retention

Safety, however, is just as critical as longevity. Our systems incorporate non-slip finishes to help reduce incidents in high-traffic areas and meet OH&S expectations. To ensure each solution aligns with site-specific safety requirements, Maxi Blue organises independent grit and slip resistance testing — validating performance against relevant industry standards before sign-off. The impermeable surface also aids with spill containment and hygiene control, helping reduce compliance risks in regulated environments.

FAQ's | Automotive Epoxy Floors

  • How much downtime is required?

Minimal to none. Maxi Blue specialises in installations over weekends or brief closures, ensuring you're operational by Monday morning.

  • How quickly can we use the floor?

Foot traffic can usually resume in about 2 hours. Vehicle traffic is typically safe after 24–48 hours, thanks to the Luxafloor® FCF fast-cure system.

This may vary depending on the ambient conditions, humidity and environment

  • Is it durable enough for workshop abuse?

Absolutely. Our systems withstand heavy traffic, dropped tools, hoist movements, hot tyres, and dry turns. Abrasion resistance (ASTM D4060) meets demanding automotive needs.

    * IMPORTANT

Alternative Dulux products may be recommended based on the specific requirements of your workshop.

  • Will it resist oil and brake fluid?

The cured epoxy floor is highly resistant to common automotive chemicals including oils, fuels, solvents, and brake fluid.

    IMPORTANT:

In the event of a spill it is always advisable to clean up the spill, and regular upkeep and cleaning is recommended.

  • Is the floor slip-resistant?

We can incorporate specific anti-slip aggregate textures to meet required safety standards (AS 4586) and enhance OH&S compliance. Line markings and safety zones can also be integrated.

    IMPORTANT:

Grit/anti-slip requirements will be assessed on a client  basis, and customised to your specific workshop requirements

  • How does it improve workshop's lighting?

A clean, glossy epoxy floor transforms the space. It reflects light (making the workshop brighter), hides previous stains, presents a highly professional image, and can be customised with colours or logos.

  • What surface preparation is involved?

Proper preparation is key to longevity. We perform diamond grinding to create the right profile and remove contaminants, along with crack filling and substrate cleaning. Skipping prep is the main cause of coating failure.

  • How long does the epoxy floor last?

In a busy workshop, a properly installed and maintained system typically lasts 5–10 years or more before needing a recoat. Lifespan depends on traffic intensity and maintenance practices.

    * IMPORTANT

Maxi Blue will provide training around recommended cleaning protocols of the workshop floor.

  • Are there different colours and finishes?

Yes. Luxafloor® FCF comes in standard colours (White, Light Grey, Blue Grey, Golden Yellow). We can customise gloss levels, add anti-slip textures, decorative flakes, or even incorporate logos and safety markings.

  • Why choose a specialist like Maxi Blue?

We live and breathe (not literally!) epoxy flooring for automotive environments.

Our relationship with Dulux gives us access to engineered systems like Luxafloor® FCF, specialised training, and compliance expertise.

We understand the unique operational pressures of workshops and deliver proven, reliable results quickly.
